I know right?!? Or maybe you think its crazy to think this. I promise its true. One of the ways our brains work is by creating neural networks, maps inside our heads that essentially make up our habits. Its why you don’t have to think very much when you’re doing something you do a lot…like driving.
And its totally normal when you interrupt this known habit by trying to add a new aspect to it that you sometimes mess the whole thing up. That’s self-sabotage! And its supposed to happen during the change process. This occurs when you are teaching your brain to do something new, to take a new path. And this is because your brain is wanting to do that old familiar thing instead, so it pulls you right back to that old map. Don’t think of this as a bad thing.
